How to: Get Started With Canopy

• I will email you a link to authorize you to access Canopy.
• Click on the link to create an account with a username and password.
• Your account is now ready to use.

How to: Send Documents Using Canopy

• Using your phone

               ** Download the Canopy app called "Canopy Client Portal"

               ** Upload documents, screenshots, files, etc. 

• Using your computer

               ** Sign into Canopy using the following link: americanprotax.clientportal.com

               ** Copy and paste (or drag and drop) documents from your computer to Canopy.

How to: Receive Documents Using Canopy

•  Sign into Canopy.
•  Select the documents you need.
•  The documents can be downloaded, printed, etc. 

How to: Put your e-Signature on a Tax Return Using Canopy

• You can e-Sign the tax return from the Canopy app or from your computer.
• You will receive an email notifying you that your tax returns are ready for e-Signature.
• Each person signing the tax return will receive an email.
• Sign in to Canopy from your computer, phone, or tablet.
• e-Signatures will be obtained following IRS-required KBA (knowledge-based authentication).
• After you attach your e-Signature, click send.
